| Audit Management | Process of planning, carrying out, monitoring and closing internal or external audits. |
| Beyond Paper | Concept according to which the digital Route Book does not only replicate the paper document, but also enables connected processes, structured data and operational updates. |
| BMK | Austrian ministry also responsible for transport, mobility and railway safety. |
| Bombardier | Manufacturer/data source from which TrainEvents can handle zones or data according to the available configurations and interfaces. |
| Change Request | Request or process for managing a change, relevant for assessments, actions and traceability in the Safety Management System. |
| Corrective Actions | Actions defined to correct non-conformities, events or critical issues identified in SMS processes. |
| Country-specific Dossier | Dossier dedicated to each country in which the undertaking operates, with data, criteria and control logics specific to the national context. |
| Digital Route Book | Digital solution to prepare, update, distribute and consult route information during service. |
| Driving Staff | Operational users who consult route information during service. |
| EBA | German federal railway authority, relevant in the German national context. |
| EPSF | French national authority for railway safety. |
| ERATV | ERATV is the European register of authorised vehicle types and contains technical data on railway vehicles. |
| eSMS | SysCo suite for digitising and centralising the main processes of the railway Safety Management System. |
| ETA | Analysis method that represents the possible consequences or developments starting from an initiating event. |
| ETCS Data | ETCS data include information generated or recorded within the European Train Control System, useful for operational, technical and safety analysis. |
| Event Recorder | An event recorder is an onboard system that records operational train or locomotive data, such as speed, braking, events, signals and data related to protection systems. |
| FOT / BAV | Swiss Federal Office of Transport, the competent authority for public and rail transport in Switzerland. |
| FTA | Analysis method that represents the causes that may lead to an undesired event. |
| GPS-based Consultation | Functionality that supports consultation of information based on the position or the progress of the service. |
| Hasler | Manufacturer/data source associated with railway recorders and onboard data that can be handled in specific TrainEvents contexts. |
| ILT | Dutch authority responsible for human environment and transport, including railway supervision in the Netherlands. |
| IMT | Portuguese authority responsible for mobility and transport, including aspects related to railway safety. |
| Instructions | Operational information or provisions applicable to the service or the route. |
| Integrated HelpDesk | Support system integrated into SysCo products that allows tickets to be opened directly from the module, attaching useful context, screenshots and references. |
| JRU | The JRU is the juridical recording unit connected to ETCS systems, used to record data relevant for event analysis and reconstruction. |
| KPI Monitoring | Process of defining, calculating and periodically monitoring safety and performance indicators. |
| Line Documentation | Set of documents and operational information relating to lines, route sections and routes, intended to support railway operations. |
| Line Dossier | In the Italian context, the concept of line dossier can be linked to line or route documentation/information intended for driving staff. |
| Locomotive Events | Locomotive events are pieces of information recorded during service and related to the behaviour of the vehicle, the driver, onboard systems or operating conditions. |
| Locomotive Zones | Locomotive zones are pieces of information or events produced by onboard systems and recorders, used to analyse specific operating conditions or behaviours during service. |
| MDR | Data file type handled by TrainEvents, to be linked to specific recorder or onboard system configurations. |
| Mixed Fleets | A mixed fleet includes different vehicles, recorders or onboard systems, which may generate data in different formats. |
| Multi-format Analysis | Multi-format analysis means being able to handle and normalise data from different formats, recorders, vehicles or manufacturers within a single environment. |
| National Requirements | Requirements or rules applicable in the different countries in which the railway undertaking operates. |
| National Safety Authority | National authority responsible for railway safety in the various countries. |
| NRT | e-SMS module dedicated to regulatory management and the controlled drafting of texts, manuals, instructions, prescriptions and management system documents. |
| NSA Rail Belgium | Belgian national authority for railway safety. |
| Offline Consultation | Ability for driving staff to consult the Route Book even without a connection. |
| Onboard Recorder | Generic term used to indicate systems installed on board a vehicle that record or generate technical and operational data. |
| Onboard Systems | Onboard systems are components or platforms installed on vehicles that produce technical, operational or diagnostic data. |
| Operational Restrictions | Limitations or conditions affecting the execution of service on a route section or route. |
| OTMR | OTMR refers to data recorded by onboard monitoring systems, used to analyse operational parameters, events and behaviour during service. |
| Over 100 Configurations | TrainEvents supports over 100 different configurations to analyse data from event recorders and onboard systems. |
| Preventive Actions | Actions defined to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities, events or critical issues. |
| PWA | Technology that enables the use of the web application on different devices, with an app-like experience. |
| Railway Expertise | SysCo team experience in the railway sector, including profiles with experience in safety, operations, training and SMS management. |
| Railway Undertaking | Railway operator responsible for operational processes, safety, compliance and service management. |
| RCC | Acronym for Route Compatibility Check, used to indicate the process of verifying compatibility between vehicle/train and route. |
| RCC Rules | Rules, data and logics used to determine compatibility between vehicle, train and route. |
| Real-time Updates | Controlled distribution of changes and updates to the Route Book or operational information. |

| Route Book | The Route Book contains the route information required by driving staff for service operation. |
| Route Compatibility Check | Route Compatibility Check verifies whether a train or vehicle is compatible with a specific route section by comparing vehicle data, infrastructure data, operational constraints and applicable rules. |
| Route Information | Data and operational information describing the route, line characteristics, instructions, restrictions and conditions relevant to driving staff. |
| SaaS | Software delivery model in which the application is accessible via the internet without local installation. |
| Safety Management System | Structured set of processes, responsibilities, activities and tools through which a railway operator manages safety, risks, audits, actions and monitoring. |
| Siemens | Manufacturer/data source connected to onboard systems and data that can be integrated or handled by TrainEvents in specific contexts. |
| SSO | System that enables secure and centralised user access through a corporate identity provider. |
| Supplier Qualification | Process of qualification, monitoring and periodic evaluation of suppliers, with criteria, scores, deadlines and related actions. |
| Technical Dossier | Document or structured set of data, criteria and verification logics that formalises the Route Compatibility Check process. |
| TELOC | TELOC is a family of recorder systems/solutions associated with Hasler, used in the context of recording and analysing onboard railway data. |
| Traceability | Ability to reconstruct activities, decisions, changes, actions, responsibilities and documents over time. |
| Train-route Compatibility | Verification of consistency between the characteristics of the train/vehicle and those of the route to be run. |
| Trend Analysis | Analysis of how indicators evolve over time, useful for identifying gaps, deviations or future trends. |
| TRU | File type handled by TrainEvents, related to data generated by event recorders or onboard systems. |
| TSI OPE | TSI OPE is the European technical specification relating to the operation and traffic management subsystem, relevant for processes such as Route Compatibility Check and Route Book. |
